Crypto markets are always Quoted in market pairs. A pair is a combination of two cryptocurrencies to facilitate trading on a crypto currency exchange. Examples: BTC/USD, ETH/USD, BTC/ETH Base vs Quote Asset In a pair, the first currency is known as the base currency, while the second makes the quote currency. What does price of a market pair mean? The price for a market pair is how much of the Quote currency it costs to buy one unit of the base currency.
